for my hufflepuff baby; locked!

Susan toyed nervously with her now dark red hair as she walked toward the Common Room, humming quietly beneath her breath. Had she done something to upset Justin, or were they going to have a regular friendly chat? The last time they had, though she had ended up with her top almost off. The thought of the day they had spent in her pool caused a pink tint to illuminate her cheeks, and she quickly pushed the memory out of her mind to prevent further blushing. "Don't let yourself go, because everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes," she sang quietly, only audible if one was paying attention to every sound detail in the empty corridor. She was sure a few portraits could hear her soft singing, though she didn't seem to mind.

Upon reaching the Room of Requirement, she placed her hand on the doorknob and paused; what was she going to say? And why on earth was she so nervous if she was only going to meet Justin? She convinced herself it was silly of her to be so shy, and finally walked into the room. Her eyes automatically found the Hufflepuff boy, he looked comfortable and was obviously pleased she had worn the dress. Shyly, she glanced down at the white sundress he had given her for Christmas, which fit perfectly in more places than one. "Have you been waiting long?"

Justin had been waiting approximately six minutes. The other twenty-four of which he spent in the room were spent decorating it. Pink roses dotted the floor and were sprinkled all over the room. He slowly stood up and walked over to her, his wand behind his back flicked at the radio in the corner just as Zach had taught him, and it started to play KC & Jojo's All My Life.

"Just a few minutes really," he replied calmly and extended his hand.

"May I have this dance?"
Susan seemed to momentarily forget he had responded to her question, for her attention was consumed by the roses taking up every inch of the room. Her lips were parted in shock as she surveyed the setting, there were more roses than she could count and they were all absolutely beautiful, painted with perfection. The music made the setting even more serene, romantic even, and it took her more than a minute to realise he had spoken, let alone asked her a question.

"Oh, Justin," she whispered, her wide blue eyes reflecting the light as they admired everything around her. They were finally set back on him, standing there with a captivating smile. "It would be my honour." Her small hand found his almost instantly as she walked forward, into his arms; the feeling of his arms wrapped around her brought her more pleasure than the roses and the music put together.
Justin smiled as he gently wrapped an arm around her waist and enlanced his fingers with hers, making sure not to stand too close so as to not put off the wrong impression. He wanted this night to be perfect, or at least as perfect as he could make it.

No screw ups tonight, pop. He thought as he took in Susan's beauty. She looked so perfect tonight and she fit perfectly in his arms.

"Suzie, do you remember when we pretended to get married? You know... When we were seven."
Susan's eyes had slowly shut after they had made themselves comfortable, found a small distance and a matched pace, savouring the music and everything about that moment. Something in her wanted to ask why, why did he like her and why was he always so nice? but the questions never left her lips. A bright smile appeared and her eyes opened at the mention of one of their childhood memories. "All of the neighbours came to watch and I wanted Pumpkin to be my bridesmaid, how could I forget?" Seeing her late cat in a pearl necklace was something Suzie would not soon forget, and neither was seeing seven year old Justin in a tuxedo.
Justin let out a quiet laugh and nodded, shifting his hand to brush over her neck lightly.

"Ah, Pumpkin was ready for it too," he said and shook his head.

"We thought it was real though. Remember?"
"Mmhm," she murmured, subconsciously weakening at his touch. Why was it every time he had his hands on her, she felt weak in the knees and had butterflies fluttering about her stomach? Because he's Justin, she answered, eyes steadily gazing into his, the boy I've loved since age six. "I wanted you to live in my closet, I even moved all of my toys so you could."
Justin smiled and couldn't help but place a soft kiss on her forehead, his thumb gently rubbing her cheek.

"I would have lived in your closet too if my mum hadn't pulled me out by my hair. But she doesn't know that I snuck back later that night. I had to see you again."
Although Susan hadn't noticed, after only a few minutes of dancing they had managed to bring themselves very close to one another, her head could have easily cradled under his chin. "I waited for you to come back," she said softly, eyes briefly glancing at his lips. Her hands slipped to the back of his neck, fingers entwining in his hair. "And I was so glad when you did."

Maybe it was the music and the romance that had spurred Suzie's actions, but before she could react she had brought Justin's head lower to place a gentle kiss on his lips. Only did she realise what she had done when the eager and pleased sensation grew in her veins at the feel of his lips on hers.
Justin felt oddly clamy and shakey, as if a lightning bolt had shot right through him. He wanted so much to kiss her and love her and treat her the way she deserved to be treated, very unlike the way he had been treating her lately. The song played in the background and he couldn't help but feel it was perfect for tonight.

All My Life
I Prayed For Someone Like You
And I Thank God
That I..That I Finally Found You
All My Life
I Prayed For Someone Like You
And I Hope That You Feel The Same Way Too
Yes, I Pray That You Do Love Me Too

As their lips parted, he slowly opened his eyes to look into hers.

"Suzie..."
Susan reluctantly pulled away, she never wanted that buzzing feeling spreading from her head to her toes to ever go away, his kiss was intoxicating. After a few lingering moments, when she had caught her breath and her heart had started beating regularly again, she opened her eyes; they were wide with appreciation and awe. "Hm?" she responded quietly as she gently placed her head on his chest, directly under his chin. A perfect fit.
Justin sighed slightly and held her close to him, his hand on the back of her head.

"Suzie... I... I need to tell you something..." he whispered down at her.
Susan shut her eyes, at peace as she listened to his soft breathing, feeling his heart beat against hers. "What is it?" she asked softly, pulling away only enough to look up at him, head tilted in curiosity.
Justin eyed her for a while, unable to speak. He slowly dipped his head and kissed her lips softly. He pulled back slightly and rested his forehead on hers.

"Suzie... I... I... I think I... in love... with... with your dress," he breathed out and closed his eyes shut. Why was it so hard to just tell her the truth? Was he afraid of what she thought of him? Probably.
Susan quietly laughed, not at him, but at the fact that he was terribly nervous, and only because of her. One hand idly slipped over his cheek, lithe fingers tracing invisible patterns over his cheek bone. "You're in love with my dress?" she asked with a bemused smile, eyes staring straight into his.

And when I see you, I really see you upside down. But my brain knows better, it picks you up and turns you around.
Justin smiled nervously and shook his head.

"No... Well... Yes actually. But no. I mean... That's not exactly what I wanted to say." He closed his eyes and tried to control his breathing which had somehow gone quite astray.
"What is it then?" Suzie asked gently, dropping her hand down to the base of his neck. Her eyes studied him, lips pulled into a frown as she searched for a clue as to what he was thinking, why he seemed to be so nervous.
It's now or never.

He took in a deep breath and decided he better say it quick before the tiny bit of courage was gone from his lungs.

"I'm in love with you, Suzie. With you and only you. I only want you, no one else. I want to be with you forever just like we planned when we were six. I can't go on living this way or pretending that it doesn't hurt when other blokes ask you out because it does. And..." He had said all this in one breath and was now struggling to breathe properly once more.

"And I'm sorry I was an arse before. I was just confused but... I'm not anymore. Not at all."
"You...you love me?" she repeated incredulously, her voice hushed from awed shock. Hearing this sent her heart into a frenzy, beating wildly as if trying to jump out of her chest. Susan realised then that those words, love and pretending and together, those exact words were the ones she had been waiting for since they had grown up and he had found those other girls. It was true she loved him and had been waiting, but the strange emotion scared her, rendering her into a state of speechlessness.

He had been hurt when she had gone on the date with Neville, and she had thought he didn't care. She didn't have the heart to tell him how the date had been lovely, yes, but she had no romantic feelings for Neville. How long had he loved her, and why hadn't he mentioned it before?
Justin let go of her briefly to run his sweaty palms through his hair.

"Yes. I love you. I think I've always loved you. I've... I've just been stupid, that's all. I mean... I am a bloke after all. I am allowed to be stupid at least once a week right?" He swallowed and closed his eyes, placing his hands on her shoulders. He realized he was rambling but he couldn't shake this feeling of being on a roll. He opened his eyes again and spoke.

"I'm just sorry I didn't realize this sooner. Susan Leigh Bones, you are the most wonderful thing that could have ever happened to me. And... And I love you."
"So all of those girls," she began slowly, "all of those girls you dated meant nothing?" Susan was more relived than upset, it had been painful to watch him go from girl to girl, breaking hearts and never staying with one, just waiting for him to turn around and find her there. Many nights, she had wondered if he would date anyone before her. "And you...I..."

She was looking straight into his eyes, trying to put everything into words; the feelings she had felt for years that she hadn't been able to admit to anyone, including herself, into one little neat package. It was hard, almost overwhelming, she felt dizzy and giddy at the same time.
Justin nodded slowly and held her tighter in his arms.

"Suzie... I know you must have been hurt by the things I did but I'm sorry. I would never want to hurt you, Suzie. Please believe me."
